Pakistan's inflation rate increased to 17.05 percent


 



Despite the tall claims of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, the weekly inflation of the week based on the Sensory Price Indicator (SPI) ended on 06 May, for the combined consumption group, witnessed a rise of 0.50 percent over the previous. Week.


According to the latest figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) released on Friday, the above group recorded 149.01 points as against 148.27 points recorded in the previous week for the week under review.


Items that recorded an average increase in prices include chicken, banana, wheat flour, mustard oil, beef, jaggery, sugar, mutton, bread, yogurt, toilet soap, tomatoes, moong dal, shortening, milk (fresh, Mash). Pulses, milk (powder), and vanaspati ghee (tin) among the commodities which have not seen any change in prices during the week include rice (basmati broken)Rice (Irri 6/9), Cooking Oil (Loose), Vegetable Ghee (Loose), Salt, Chilli, Tea (Packet), Cooked Beef, Cooked Lentils, Tea (Ready), Cigarettes, Long cloth, Lawn, Georgette , Male slippers, gents slippers, ladies slippers, electricity charges, gas charges, firewood, energy savers, washing soaps, matches, petrol, diesel and telephone call charges.
