KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that he planned to present the 'Citizens Budget' 22-2021, for which he initiated consultations with all interested parties.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, chairing a stakeholder consultation meeting at the Prime Minister's House, said he intended to present a Citizens' Budget 22-2021, to which he had invited everyone, including industry, traders, and farmers. stakeholders.

The meeting was attended by Secretary-General Sindh Mumtaz Shah, Chairman of Planning and Development Muhammad Waseem, relevant Secretaries, President of CCI Sharq Vohra, President of Hyderabad Chamber of Retailers and Industry Saleem Qureshi, and others.

The Sindh prime minister informed those concerned that the provincial government will receive Rs 967.5 billion over the current financial year and the provincial government will receive Rs 228 billion from its own resources.

He said the provincial government has a total budget of 1.19 trillion. He further said that 81% of the total budget was spent on underdevelopment and 19% for development work.

Syed Murad Ali Shah said 81% of the underdeveloped budget includes 20% on education, 19% on finance, 14% on health, 12% on recognition (legal order and justice), 9% on local government, 3% on irrigation and 23 other departments have budgets.


The Sindh Chief Minister said that a joint treatment plant would be set up in collaboration with the World Bank and work on the project would start next year. The site association suggested that roads be constructed in the site area with a drainage system, overhauling. On this, the Sindh Chief Minister said that 17 roads of the site have been selected for widening on the suggestion of the industrialists, and work on the site would start at the beginning of next financial year.

Agricultural experts told the Sindh Chief Minister that bumper onion crop has been cultivated in Sindh province. Instead of exporting onions, the federal government has continued to import onions, as a result of which the price of onions in the vegetable markets has fallen by Rs 5 per kg. He suggested that there should be farmer-friendly policies for farmers.
