Samsung removes the crown from Apple's smartphone; Xiaomi

 




Market research firm Canalis says Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. snatched the crown from Apple, the world's largest smartphone maker, accounting for one-fifth of global sales in the first quarter. China's Xiaomi Corporation performed its best quarter so far, with shipments ranging from 62 to 49 million phones and a market share of 14 to 14, which puts it in third place after Samsung and Apple.
